Car Reviews 2008 Gt500 Shelby Super Snake

In 1967, Shelby American built one 427-powered GT500 “Super Snake” for Mel Burns Ford. Carroll Shelby drove it at the Goodyear test track for tire promotion film production. That car reached lap speeds of over 150 mph and a top speed of 170 mph. After 40 years, Shelby decided to bring the legend back on the streets. Only a limited number of “Super Snakes” was built at the Shelby Automobiles facility in Las Vegas in late 2007. Newly-developed Ford Racing GT500 performance packs are used to transfer this limited number of Ford Shelby GT500 to “Super Snakes”. Ford Racing and Team Shelby developed the GT500 Super Snake package which includes: — Ford Racing Supercharger upgrade kit (SuperPack 600) producing over 600 horsepower and 590 ft.-lbs. of torque. — 6-speed manual transmission with 3. 73: 1 rear axle ratio. — Ford Racing performance exhaust system. — Ford Racing Handling Pack offering unique performance suspension tuning including Dynamic — adjustable dampers, lowering springs, tuned stabilizer bars, and front strut tower brace. — Shelby-designed Alcoa 20-inch wheels fitted with Pirelli P Zero tires measuring P275/35ZR-20 in the rear and P255/35ZR-20 up front. — Ford Racing short-throw shifter. — Baer 6 piston brakes with Shelby cast calipers and larger rotors. — Front brake cooling ducts. — Unique carbon composite hood featuring classic Shelby design. — “Shelby” lettering across the front edge of hood and rear deck lid. — “Super Snake” vehicle badging. — Carroll Shelby signature embroidered headrests and floor mats, and other Shelby designed components. — Official Shelby CSM dash plate. The Super Snake gives you more 50 hp than the GT500 KR –King of the road–. You can go with an even more powerful non-Ford-specified blower with no warranty that will push the Super Snake’s 5.4-liter V-8 to 725-plus bhp. Thanks to the 20″ rims, chin spoiler and rocket panels the car looks like a monster. Although the Super Snake is tuned for high performance, it does have air conditioning, a 500-watt sound system and many other nice features. Regarding the car’s performance, it does a 0-60 mph sprint in 4.4 seconds and a 1/4 mile in 12.5 seconds. While, the standard GT500 does the same in 4.6 seconds and 12.8 seconds respectively. With the 6-piston calipers, braking is exceptional for a car that weighs 4095 lbs. The Super Snake can stop down from 60 and 80 mph in 118 and 204 ft., respectively. Conclusion: The GT500 Super Snake is a real muscle car. So if you want a car that satisfies you with its performance, you should take this Super Snake in consideration.
